What it actually is
reVC Web runs the open-source reVC decompilation with WebGL 2, streaming data from a copy of Vice City you already own. The project says it downloads and redistributes nothing. Because it relies on WebGL 2 and SharedArrayBuffer, older browsers and some locked-down devices won't start it; run our browser check first.
The legitimate way to play
Bring your own installed copy of the original Vice City.
If GTA: Vice City won't load
- Make sure you load the right files. The project needs data from your own copy of GTA: Vice City; a different edition or an incomplete folder is the most common reason it refuses to start.
- Leave room in browser storage. Imported game data is kept in the site's local storage, so private windows, low disk space or "clear data on exit" settings will wipe it or block it.
- Check WebGL 2 and SharedArrayBuffer with our browser check. Heavier engine ports need both.
Chromebook, phone and tablet
On a Chromebook, GTA: Vice City should start in Chrome as long as the browser check shows WebAssembly and WebGL 2. Low-end Chromebooks may need lower graphics settings, and managed school devices can block sites or downloads entirely; follow your school's rules. It is built for keyboard and mouse, so a phone or tablet is not a realistic way to play it.
